Later, around the year 1801, I became a member of the New Hampshire Legislature. In the year 1805, I was elected as the Governor of New Hampshire. My term ended around the year, 1811.
In 1812, I ran for Vice President, but later I rejected the nomination. Instead, I retired and went back to my hometown, Portsmouth. I am living a happy life here in New Hampshire.
